About autogas we know everything

Converting Diesel engines to CNG increasingly a solution to fuel increase.

Fuel prices constantly rise – in the past 10 years the increase of over 100%!

The commodities are getting dearer, the taxes and excise duties are getting higher, oil companies levy higher costs.  On the other hand, the competition on the logistics market is getting stronger, and the customers expect price reduction.

Chart: Diesel Fuel price change timeline over the last 10 years.

Unfortunately, there has not been any signs showing that trend might change for better.

One of the ways of dealing with the though market conditions is making one's business more effficient, and employing cost effective measures such as DEGAmix.

The potential hamessed in DEGAmix  technology can be appreciated especially when one becomes aware of the fact that these days the cost of fuel can be up to 40-45% of the total cost of a transport company.

If by the use of the DEGAmix solution, we can reduce the cost of fuel by 30%, that will handsomely translate into a reduction of the company operational costs.

If we assume that transporters profit margin is on 15-20% pitch, it appears that thanks to using DEGAmix profit margin encreases up to 25%!

Chart: Cost breakdown of a typical Polish transport company.

For presentation purposes, we have come up with this calculation for a loaded truck MAN TGA 26.440, that has delivered a fuel consumption of a level of 42 litres of Diesel fuel per 100km.  The engine of this truck runs particularly well with the DEGAmix, achieving higher combustion effectiveness and lower fuel consumption.

We start off with fuel prices as recorded in November 2011: the price for 1 liter of Diesel fuel=  PLN 5,50 and the price for 1 liter of LPG= PLN 2,80

a/ Standard Configuration

the Diesel consumption: 42l / 100 km
the cost of covering a distance of 100 km: 42 x PLN 5,50 = PLN 231

b/ DEGAmix  Configuration

the Diesel consumption: 28l / 100 km
the LPG consumption: 10l / 100 km
the cost of covering a distance of 100 km: 28 x PLN 5,50 + 10 x PLN 2,80 = PLN 182

As the example shows our test truck MAN TGA 26.440 has generated the saving of PLN 49 / 100 km. Taking under consideration that truck of this kind covers the distance of 90-110K km per year on average, the yearly saving on fuel bill may be as much as PLN 50.000,00!

It should be stressed that there are differences in the levels of combustion processes effectiveness  of the DEGAmix depending on the engine make, the engine design and displacement, and the operational aspects.

Below, please find collected and assorted data exemplifying savings, that our Clients achieved in operating their vehicles, on different workloads and different environments.  All fuel consumption records were verified by an impartial panel.

The analysis of savings carried out on a few dozens of vehicles explicitly show that the more intensive the operation is, the higher the workload is, the more strenuous the rout is, the higher the efficiency of the DEGAmix.
