Components


The design of the gas system capable of feeding a high pressure engine with LPG is similar to a traditional LPG installation dedicated to petrol engines.

Construction of  DEGAmix installation mix dedicated to high pressure engines:

  1. Items mounted in the engine bay – Front Kit (ie. motor kit).
  2. Tank fitted with its equipment.


1. Elements mounted in the engine bay – "Front Kit".

DEGAmix kit is available in configurations depending on the power of the engine, and it consists of DEGAmix control unit, LPG reducer for gas injection system – Cometa-I, and one sectional or two sectional I-Plus ARCO gas injector.

DEGAmix installation is available in two basic versions:

  • 12V Electrical Installation,
  • 24V Electrical Installation (in case of 24V, the use of a voltage converter is required).

 

For the engine output:

  • up to 300HP – with single-section injector,
  • above 300HP – with twin-section injector.
  

2. Tank with equipment

For the purpose of  DEGAmix, Elpigaz developed special LPG tanks (LC – Large Capacity), the size and capacity of these tanks are similar to diesel fuel tanks.  LC tanks are to be mounted onto the truck frame.

             

Large capacity tanks are available in „HORIZONTAL” version (horizontal position), and „VERTICAL” version (vertical position). Specially designed holders are available for both types of tanks, which enable easy and safe mounting and everyday use of the large capacity tanks.

 The tank capacity and type are matched with LPG combustion properties, in a certain proportion of diesel fuel consumption, in order to allow usage of simultaneous fuelling with two types of fuels during a normal operation of the vehicle.

The tank is also matched with the available space for its mounting.  Usually, the tank is mounted to vehicle’s frame behind the driver’s cab or in place dedicated to the spare wheel.
